About Us
The IgNITE Medical Case Competition is an annual, bilingual poster presentation contest founded by students from the University of Ottawa. While still very new to the conference scene, IgNITE has quickly become one of the most diverse and prestigious research competitions, hosting students from across Canada and the United States. Built on the core principle of inclusivity, the IgNITE Medical Case Competition provides students that have never stepped foot in a lab, and those who are completing their honours thesis, the opportunity to develop and present novel research proposals to industry-leading professionals.
Our Mission
As an organization our mission is to provide you with the knowledge and skills you need to succeed in the science career path you want to follow. We provide the fundamentals for your success through our competition by providing you a an experience covering the basics of research, providing you a comprehensive case package outlining 3 lab techniques and offering science communication based workshops. More importantly, we provide a platform for you to network and build connections with like minded students and professionals in your field of interest.
In order to give all of our competitors the opportunity to succeed, we assign each team an IgNITE mentor. Our mentors are comprised of the top medical, graduate and senior science students who have extensive research and mentoring experience. With this support system, all IgNITE competitors are pushed to achieve their maximal potential.
